PERFORMER BIO
The Gypsy Jive Band is Gary Weinger (violin, vocals), Rachel Melas (double bass), and Murray Mckay (guitar), with musical backgrounds that run the gamut from classical, Cajun and country to jazz and more. They are a regular fixture at folk festivals and in concert, and have recently released their CD Yennevelt.

Traditional vocal tunes and melodies from the Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Chassidim and beyond are all presented with knowledgeable explanations of the genre. This is exactly the uplifting break that you’re looking for in the middle of the day!
