12:00 Israel Rocks: A Journey Through Music of Visions
and Divisions
This compelling documentary shows Israel, its people and their differences, all through music. Over 50 musical artists perform from pop to blues, folk and rap. Rocker Tuvia Bolton sings of the arrival of the Messiah while Shalom Hanoch sings that the Messiah won’t come. Contrast the songs of Palestinian singer Amal Murkus with that of the choir of the Jewish settlers in the Golan Heights. Pop singer Shlomo Artzi sings of the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin, and the Choir of the Disabled War Veterans of the Israeli Army sing about the Fires of War. See the complexities, sense the pain, and be moved by the music.
