The Lady in Number 6:
Music Saved My Life
Pre-show: Almonds & Wine/Q&A with filmmaker Arnold Lipsey
You will be moved and inspired by the amazing story of Alice Herz-Sommer, the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor and pianist, as she shares her views on how to live a long and happy life. Alice discusses music, laughter and how to remain optimistic come what may. The film features beautiful photographs and rare film footage that truly brings Alice’s extraordinary story to life. Sadly, Alice passed away in February at the age of 110, but she leaves behind a beautiful message for all.
Almonds & Wine
Before The Lady In Number 6 begins, enjoy this delightfully sweet and poignant animated film by Arnold Lipsey which whimsically tells the universally shared tale of Jewish immigration. With only music and no dialogue, it follows three generations of a Jewish family from the Old Country to the New. A celebration of tradition and music, Almonds & Wine will have you smiling while tugging at your heartstrings. Following the screening, meet Arnold Lipsey as he discusses the role of music in his film.
