Singer/pianist Fern Lindzon returns to Jewish Music Week with another enchanting program of Jewish music as only Fern can do. This top notch musician adds her special twist to traditional Eastern European and Yiddish art songs and escorts us into the world of modern-day Israeli songs. With her unique style, she takes songs we love and makes us love them even more!
Fern Lindzon’s second CD, “Two Kites” was nominated for a 2012 JUNO Award as Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. From Jobim to Norma Winstone, with stop-overs in Brazil, Eastern Europe and on Basin Street, Fern’s highly original arrangements fly gracefully on the winds of contemporary jazz. The CD launch won a Special Projects Award from Toronto Downtown Jazz and has received many rave reviews. In 2008, Fern also won the Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year with the Sisters of Sheynville.
