12:00 - 1:00 p.m.  ||  Live at Lunchtime

Offenbach, the Cantor's Son

(and other 19th Century Composers)

Jennifer Krabbe, soprano

A relaxing musical lunchtime break! Jacques Offenbach started out simply as a Cantor’s son, and went on to become known as the King of Operetta. In this lovely vocal recital, Jennifer Krabbe will enthrall you with the music of this wonderful composer, as well as other well-known Jewish composers of the 19th century. (Note: This is a perfect companion to follow the morning music session “Western Art Music from a Jewish Perspective.”).

Jennifer Krabbe holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Western Ontario, as well as an Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music's Glenn Gould School. This season, Jennifer is the Sidgwick Scholar with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. She also performs regularly in art song recitals throughout Northern and Southern Ontario, with a dedicated focus on Canadian music and premiering new works of young composers.
