BIO

Michael Occhipinti’s Sicilian Jazz Project has been dazzling audiences world-wide with an intriguing mix of rare Old World Sicilian folk material and the New World sounds of electric guitars, chamber music, funk and reggae grooves, and modern jazz. Using music sung by Sicilian fishermen, sulphur miners, and folk musicians as a starting point, the music celebrates Sicily’s multicultural history.

Unwind at the end of the week and join us for this fantastic hour of music!

In honour of the first synagogue in 500 years opening in Palermo, The Sicilian Jewish Jazz Project highlights the 15th century contribution of Jews to Sicilian culture with music written prior to 1492. It’s a Sicilian party and you have never heard anything quite like this!
