Spotlight on Glick

Renée Bouthot

You will be enchanted by this lovely afternoon performance of music for women’s voices, piano and strings by the singular and extraordinary Srul Irving Glick. Soprano and conductor Renee Bouthot’s program includes Glick’s haunting We Are Children Just The Same as well as his well-known Psalm Trilogy. A bonus of Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs makes it a perfect afternoon of music! With Ellen Meyer, piano; Beth Silver, cello; and Cathie Goldberg, violin.

Renée Bouthot is a soprano, an educator and conductor. She is the founder of the 16-voice Lirit Women’s Chamber Choir which focuses on Jewish music and music with Jewish themes. Renée has sung across Canada with the Ginger Group, the Canadian Opera Company, Stratford Festival and Tapestry Music Theatre, and sings frequently in Guanajuato, Mexico where she recently performed the Mexican premiere of “We Are Children Just The Same”.
