"Vocals for Victoria"
Before the Vocals begin, this energetic ensemble will set the mood for a fabulous afternoon of music! Klezkonnection is the largest community Klezmer band in Canada under the leadership of clarinetist Jonno Lightsone. The lively spirit of traditional Klezmer will lift your spirits, and carry you back to a time gone by!
It’s Toronto’s Jewish Barbershop Quartet! Larry Grupp, David Bernstein, Brooke Jacobs and David Wiener will capture your heart with these favourite Jewish melodies presented a cappella in the Barbershop style. You’ve never heard anything like it!
Since early childhood, Alexander, Samuel and Benjamin Levy have sung together developing a blended vocal sound that only brothers can achieve! With their unique cohesive musical chemistry, The Yvels jam, write, record and perform. Now, with guitar accompaniment, this fresh trio will enthrall you singing a variety of music, including pop, alternative rock and traditional Israeli, and all with a special Yvel twist!
Lachan Jewish Chamber Choir
This ensemble of committed singers based at Holy Blossom Temple is known for its performances of Jewish and Jewish-influenced music from the twelfth to the twenty-first centuries. Also recognized for its unique repertoire of Jewish-Canadian composers, Lachan celebrates Jewish vocal music on every level! Don’t miss the celebration!
You will fall in love with Toronto’s only all-female vocal jazz quartet. It’s like the Andrews Sisters plus one, with just a little Smothers Brothers thrown in. Donna Green, Ilana Waldston, Liz Tansey and Karen Bell share their rich harmonies to rekindle the fabulous music of the past and take us on a sentimental journey of the best songs by Jewish songwriters of the Big Band era. Mark Kieswetter on piano
Resa's Pieces Concert Band
To end our Victoria Day celebration on a high note, we welcome back the largest community concert band in Toronto! Led by the talented Resa Kochberg, this wonderful instrumental ensemble of over 50 musicians ranging in age from twenty to ninety will join the party with Hassidic Marches, a bit of Klezmer, some popular songs by Jewish songwriters and more!
