Jerusalem Swings!

Special Guests The Manhattan Transfer

This explosive musical event is an interactive, multi-media celebration for Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day). The show features special guest stars, the legendary Manhattan Transfer, along with British entertainer Simon Spiro and JUNO-nominated singer Wendy Lands. These extraordinary vocalists are joined onstage by dancers and visiting Israeli jazz artists, and are accompanied by the Canadian All-Star Swing Orchestra. Award-winning cinematic footage and more surprises top it all off for a one-night-only theatrical evening of sensational musical entertainment!

The Manhattan Transfer has defied categories to win 10 Grammy Awards and sell millions of records worldwide. They continue to set the standards as one of the world’s most innovative vocal groups with their blend of pop, jazz, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, swing and a cappella. Founded by the late Tim Hauser in 1972, the group features Janis Siegel (alto), Alan Paul (tenor), Cheryl Bentyne (soprano), and newcomer Trist Curless (bass), who replaced Hauser following his passing in 2014.

Simon Spiro is recognized worldwide as the most unique Cantor of this generation. He has also made a mark in the pop world singing with Elton John, Faith Hill, Phil Collins, Cliff Richard and others. Simon performs internationally and currently serves as spiritual leader of The Song Shul, Toronto’s newest and most exciting synagogue. He can also be seen weekly on Vision TV’s series Your All Time Classic Hit Parade.

Wendy Lands has been nominated for a JUNO Award, two Canadian Radio Music Awards, and The Cayle Chernin Award for Theatre Production. She has been signed to EMI Music Canada, Warner/Chappell Music Publishing and Universal Music Group, and has worked with Melissa Manchester, Mandy Patinkin, Jann Arden, Guillermo Del Toro and more. In 2018 Wendy headlined the prestigious Ladies International Jazz Festival in Gdynia, Poland.
