Golden Synagogues of Toronto:

Recreating a Time Gone By

Choral Ma’ariv and Sfirat Ha’Omer Service

Experience one of the oldest Toronto Synagogues as it was experienced by its original congregants. Enjoy traditional musical masterpieces and be transported back to a time when the Synagogue was part of a Golden Age for Jewish life in Toronto. It’s not a concert, but rather, a Concert Ma’ariv and Sfirat Ha’Omer Service. The music will stir you, the voices will uplift you, the spirit in the shul will embrace you as you visit a time gone by. Join us for this unique and unforgettable musical experience! Featuring Cantor Simon Spiro and the all-male a cappella Golden Voices Choir

World-renowned Cantor Simon Spiro has earned a reputation as one of the leading Cantors of his generation. His album Traditional Cantorial and Concert Favorites is one of the top selling CDs in the Milken Archive of American Jewish Music for which he is a principal recording artist. Cantor Spiro gives master classes to Chazzanim around the world and his compositions have become part of the fabric of Synagogue Music today. He is the Senior Cantor of Toronto’s Beth Tzedec Congregation.
