Russian Yiddish Folk Songs

with Inga Fillipova-Williams

Take a break in the middle of the day and join us as Ukranian soprano Inga Fillipova-Williams performs a program of popular and  beloved folk songs in Russian and Yiddish. Unlike synagogue music, these songs reflect the voice of the working class. They will both uplift you and tug at your heart strings,  and Inga's voice will capture your every emotion. An absolutely delightful way to spend your lunch hour!

Inga Filippova-Williams has starred with major opera companies and been lauded by music critics the world over.  Last year she won Prix Lyrique Allemand Bourse Sebyllas Hesse and also represented Canada in the Klaudia Taev Voice Competition in Estonia. She has been a finalist and prizewinner in many other prestigious international competitions, including Spain’s Julian Gayarre Competition, Italy’s Pavarotti International  Voice Competition, Czech and Slovak Voice Competition, Louis Quilico Voice Competition, and won first place at Ukraine’s Musical Tribute Competition.  Here in Toronto where she teaches and performs, Inga was the recipient of the esteemed Ben Steinberg Musical Legacy Award.
