Soul to Soul: Yiddish & African-American Music Celebration
​
Conceived by Zalmen Mlotek, Director of the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, this concert will honour, in the spirit of unity, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, as well as Paul Robeson, Benny Goodman, Cab Calloway and countless others who pioneered integration and cultural exchange. The featured performers include Elmore James, a veteran of five Broadway productions and numerous opera stages around the world; Tony Perry, a commanding singer-actor; and Hazzan Magda Fishman, cabaret singer and stage singer extraordinaire. Come experience the power of song in the shared traditions of the African-American and Jewish people.
