The Yiddish Swingtet
This sensational trio infuses the heartfelt emotion of Eastern European Klezmer music with the cool grooves of American swing. Have a drink and a nosh while you sit back and enjoy the sounds of bulgars, freylekhs and horas, hits from the Yiddish theatre, heymishe down home Klezmer music, as well as some hard swinging classic jazz. From the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt to the Jewish jazz of Sammy Musiker, the Yiddish Swingtet will take you on a cross-cultural musical journey that you will want to take again and again.

The Yiddish Swingtet is a well-known and much beloved fixture on the Toronto music scene. It is led by clarinetist Jonno Lightstone, leader of both the chamber Klezmer group Hu Tsa Tsa, as well as Torontos largest community Klezmer orchestra Klezconnection; guitarist/mandolinist Tony Quarrington; and stride pianist Jordan Klapman, who presents Jewish Music Week in Toronto's Jewish Broadway program on Monday's Live at Lunch. j.lightstone@sympatico.ca
