Brazilian: Choro Music
with Tio Chorinho
Before there was bossa nova and Samba, there was choro music, what many consider The New Orleans Jazz of Brazil. Join Toronto's own choro band, Tio Chorinho, for an afternoon of exciting choro music in the tradiion of the great Jewish mandolin master Jacob do Bandolim. Enjoy a late lunch accompanied by this high energy, high spirited ensemble playing music that will WOW you!

Tio Chorinho is led by mandolinist Eric Stein, artistic director of Toronto's Ashkenaz Festival and a well-known name in the city's music scene. Eric is joined by both Jewish and Brazilian musicians -- Avital Zemer (7-string guitar), Joel Schwartz (mandolin) and Maninho Costa (pandeiro).
