Aliza Spiro is an award-winning American songwriter and entertainer. Often called “the female Tom Lehrer” Aliza writes special material for cabaret artists in New York, as well as for her own show “Aliza Live” which she performs internationally. Here in Toronto, she is best known for writing such sell-out shows as 100 Years of Jewish Hollywood, The Great American Jewish Songbook, The Kids from Brooklyn and most recently British, Yiddish & Kiddush!.

Using both recorded and live examples, Aliza examines favourite musical comedy numbers, from the novelty songs of Tom Lehrer and Alan Sherman to the brilliant Broadway lyrics of Stephen Sondheim, Steven Lutvak and others.
