Remembering Arik Einstein
Ori Dagan
Arik Einstein is one of the most beloved and enduring pop stars in Israel, having remained at the forefront of the Israeli music scene for over 50 years. At his funeral this past November, President Shimon Peres stated that Arik Einstein’s songs would continue to bring life and hope for years to come. Indeed they will. Join us in this heartfelt tribute as singer Ori Dagan celebrates the songs we all know and love and which have been described as “the soundtrack of Israel”. With internationally acclaimed musicians, Kobi Hass (bass, vocals) and Brian Katz (guitar, keyboards, vocals)
Israeli-born jazz singer Ori Dagan was voted NOW Magazine’s 2013 Best Male Vocalist and won a CBC Radio 1 competition naming him “Canada’s Next Top Crooner.” His debut album “S’Cat Got My Tongue” (2009) garnered critical acclaim and his sophomore release “Less Than Three” earned a 2012 Toronto Independent Music Awards nomination in the Best Jazz category. When not singing, Ori writes a monthly “Jazz in the Clubs” column in Toronto’s Concert Goer’s Guide The WholeNote. www.oridagan.com
