Songs from the Lodz Ghetto
To complement the exhibit Photos from the Lodz Ghetto at the Art Gallery of Ontario, this moving concert presents songs that would have been known and sung by the Jews living in the Ghetto. Vocalists from HaKol Ha’Ivri, who brought us last year’s outstanding Salamone Rossi concert, now return with Yiddish and Polish songs with Holocaust commentary for a very meaningful and musical afternoon.
PERFORMER BIO
HaKol Ha’Ivri features award-winning Canadian soloists who combine classical genres and jewish tradition. Today’s event features mezzo-soprano Christina Stelmacovich (Tafelmusik Baroque Choir, winner of International Brahms Competition) and tenor Robert Kinar (Tafelmusic Baroque Choir, Toronto area soloist).
